Frequently asked questions
Answers to help you prepare an initial enquiry and understand the scope of an expert instruction.
How does an expert report differ from a clinical report?
An expert assessment addresses a question relevant to proceedings. It identifies sources, methods, findings and the reasoning behind its conclusions. The purpose of this work is assessment and evidence.
Can I enquire if another report already exists?
Yes. An independent review examines the sources, methodology and reasoning of an existing report. We first identify what can be reviewed and which records are needed.
Can you work with my lawyer?
We can coordinate the questions, documentation and preparation for testimony with your legal representative. Expert conclusions remain grounded in the findings of the assessment.
What does a report cost and how long does it take?
Fees and timescales depend on the questions, documentation, people to be assessed and work required. They are agreed in writing before the instruction, including testimony where relevant.
Do you work outside Madrid?
Yes. We consider instructions throughout Spain. Travel requirements and whether any work can be undertaken remotely depend on the case and its technical and procedural conditions.
Can you communicate in English or Russian?
Yes. The team offers communication in Spanish, English and Russian. Before assessment we agree the language, suitability of instruments and any interpreting arrangements.
What should I send with my first enquiry?
Briefly describe the matter, the stage of the proceedings and the question you need to clarify. We then agree which records are needed and how to share them.
Is court testimony included?
Testimony, preparation and travel are specified in the fee proposal. Where the court requires clarification or attendance, the necessary arrangements are agreed.
Who signs the report?
The instruction identifies the experts involved. Each takes responsibility for their own work and conclusions, with individual or joint authorship as appropriate.
Does the report guarantee a legal outcome?
A report provides a reasoned expert assessment. The competent decision-maker considers it alongside the other evidence.
